GUMMY WORMS

Makes: 40 Worms servings

Time: 80 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup 100% pressed apple juice, organic if possible
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice–a preservative (bottled or fresh)
  • 1 Tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
  • 1.5 Teaspoons cinnamon (optional, but the worms look more real with it)
  • 3 Tablespoons grass-fed gelatin powder (such as Great Lakes Brand)
  • 3 100% food-grade silicone worm molds & droppers (included with the molds)
  • Olive Oil Spray
  • Dishes or baking sheet large enough to hold your silicone molds and that will fit into your fridge

Directions

In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the cinnamon and gelatin powder.

Pour fruit juice into a saucepan and heat just to a boil.

Remove from heat and whisk in lemon juice and maple syrup.

Slowly pour the apple juice mixture into the cinnamon and gelatin mixture, whisking continuously to prevent gelatin from clumping.

Grease silicone molds with olive oil spray (this is helpful for worm removal).

Place the molds onto dishes or baking sheet and fill each worm mold using the droppers. If the mixtures start to gel as you’re adding it to the molds, you can reheat it in the pan.

Place dishes/baking sheet into the fridge and let sit for up to one hour, or until firm.

Pop worms out by pushing them out from the back of the mold and enjoy!

If you make HHC Chocolate Zucchini Cake, these can be added as a fun component of a chocolate dirt cake cup too!
